Cornersone volunteers once again flooded into Elms Park this year to support the Music in the Park event 2012.
This year’s event attracted thousands of visitors who basked in the sunshine on Sunday 13th of May. Paddy Harris, Pastor of Cornerstone Church and young churchgoer Christopher Bancroft played MC on the two main stages, entertaining the crowds and introducing a constant string of bands to thousands of party-goers.
“It was fantastic to see so many people flooding into the park. It is not used that much and so having an event that brings the community together like this is remarkable,” says Paddy.
Great line up of bands
A great line up of local bands including our own asif, Empire (a group from Lord Williams School) and punk band The Drakes rocked Elms Park in Thame. Crowd pulling tribute bands such as Led Zepplin, Elton John and Sultans of Swing all contributed to a fantastic line up of talent. Another year, another fantastic music in the park festival, which was again well supported by Cornerstone volunteers.
“As well as the music listen there was lots of other activities and as well as manning our own stand we laid on a football penalty game. Our guys also manned the gates and helped in various roles around the park. Community is important to us and we are always keen to help out in town-wide events,” he concludes.
Another successful party and already looking forward to what we hope will be even bigger and better in 2013.
